Where did the term "black" come from?

As Williams made clear in his text, the term black ORIGINALLY came to being by the black youth revolt as a rebirth..

It didn't refer to the color of one's skin, but to the attitude and pride/devotion to the race whose homeland was once "Land of the Blacks" (Egypt).

At the time the revolt was taking place, young negroes challenged anti black negroes to picking a side.

Most who were "light skin" PROUDLY claimed they were "BLACK".

Those who opposed the term but had a leadership role felt compelled to use the term to maintain those roles.

Later the term began to be used in negative ways such as during times of slavery and harsh discrimination, and has become more so just another term for the "identity" of African people, though this was not how it originally came to be.
