Hey you guys! I hope you have all been having a happy happy July. I've been soaking up every ounce of this July heat, and living my best life while preparing my heart and mind for the upcoming semester of clinical next month. Those who follow my Instagram (@yvungdom) know that this past weekend I spent my Saturday with my boyfriend, and treated him to dates ALLLLLL DAY LONG. I planned a movie date (Equalizer 2...was absolutely freaking incredible especially with the background from the first one), we got protein smoothies and had a "car date", dinner date at our favorite pizza spot, went to TJ Maxx and played the 5$ Gift Game (bought eachother gifts that were 5 dollars or less), midnight bowling, and of course, the spa night. The day was extremely fun and eventful and he was so happy!
Anywho, after sharing my date day with instagram, a bunch of readers asked for me to share my spa night DIY with the blog, so here I am :) Most of what you need you likely already have in the house, but if you dont...you can either make them or buy them for super cheap. This idea is NOT meant to be expensive, just relaxing and intimate. Enjoy!

What You'll Need:
-A large bucket for your date's feed to fit
-A foot soak (you make your own with a bath bomb, apple cider vinegar, epsom salts etc)
-Exfoliating gloves
-Body Scrub (If you dont own one, you can make a sugar scrub with whatever you have at home! Follow my pinterest @yvungdom for ideas!
-Facial (I made my own with Avocado, Banana, Bentonite Clay and Honey...you can purchase one at the store for cheap or DIY!)
-Small towels. I used 4!
-2 Large Towels. 1 for him to sit on so any water that runs off of his legs will be absorbed, and one to go under the bucket where you will be exfoliating his legs and feet so the floor isn't soaked.
-Lotion
-Candles
-Spa music (Pandora has a station for this, I suggest using a speaker or your laptop)
-Body Oil (If you don't own any use regular olive oil)
**Optional: foot file, beard oil, essential oils, neck pillow for comfort, cucumbers for the facial, skin care supplies i.e toner, moisturizer, eye cream, night cream (after the facial I did MY nightly skin care routine on my boyfriend...he was glowing!!)
How To Prepare:

1. I started by gathering all of my supplies and getting the room set up for my boyfriend. If you own a crockpot I suggest putting all of your small towels in it, pouring 1-2 cups of hot water over them and your favorite essential oil (optional). Put the crock on HIGH for 30 minutes or until steaming. If you don't own a crock pot you can wet your towels in a bowl and warm them in the microwave until hot. Either way, you want your facial towels steamed to enhance the experience, as well as the towels for his legs (nobody wants to feel cold water on their body). I also prepared my homemade facial mask and set it to the side for when I began.
2. I laid my large towels out, set up my feet supplies on the floor and lit my candles/started my essential oil diffuser. I put on the spa station on my Pandora account, dimmed ALL of the lights in my apartment so that it was just candle lit, and filled my bucket with the foot soak and very warm, but not too hot, water.
3. Go time! I got my man all set up on the sofa with the neck pillow and I began with the facial since it would have to sit the longest. I used a mask brush and applied the facial to his skin (if you have cucumbers i suggest cutting them and putting them over the eyes, and I fetched my first steamed towelette and placed it on top of his face, making sure it was puckered where his nose is so he can breathe and covering his beard so that would also be moisturized. (You can apply oil to the beard with the facial if your man is bearded!) **Also, apply the facial to your own face while you move to his legs and feet so you both get rid of those impurities!
4. As the warm facial was doing its magic, I began with the foot file to his feet, moving in circular motion to make his heels really smooth and remove the dead skin. You can use disposable gloves for this if you're freaked out by feet but I didn't, I love my mansssss and his lil stank toes lol.
5. Next, I put on my exfoliating gloves and applied my coffee scrub (TJ Maxx) to his legs and began to exfoliate. Remember not to scrub too hard, you don't wanna slice and dice ya boo. I scrubbed to the rhythm of the spa music which was fairly slow, while dipping my hands in the warm water and rinsing his legs (which feels heavenly). I did the same with his feet.
6. After exfoliating, I moved to the oil treatment. This is SUPERRRRRR nourishing for your skin, and you will feel the difference! I removed my exfoliating gloves, applied the body oil to his legs and gave him a leg/foot massage (prob his favorite part lol). Again, moving slowly to the spa music's rhythm. After the oil was applied, I grabbed two more towels and sat them on each leg to steam (almost like a "hot" oil treatment for the skin). After the towels cooled down and were no longer warm I DABBED the excess oil from his legs (don't do long wiping strokes, that doesn't feel as pleasant). Do the same with the feet, only you don't have to use towels to steam, just put them back in the warm water!
7. Lotion time! This moisturizes everything and is a great final step to smooth, moisturized legs. Apply the lotion and massage it into the skin, using a towel to remove any excess. I used my all natural 24Kt Gold lotion to tighten and firm skin.
8. After you have finished with his legs and feet, you move back to the facial. I took my last steamed towel and removed his facial mask, and used it to scrunch his freshly oiled beard. I then moved on to using my nightly skin routine (toner, serum, eye cream, night time moisturizer and rose water spray) to finish the job. **I also used my shea moisture hydrating leave in conditioner in his beard to keep it moist.
By the end of this not only was my man super glowy and soft/smooth...he was so relaxed and happy it made me happy. It's the very little things that are important, and if you are an avid believer in self care, you have to put your significant other on too!
I hope you and your lover enjoy this as much as we did :)
Xoxo
